The police are urging owners of the seized livestock to urgently come forward and identify their animals at Mokopane SPCA, Limpopo.

Thanks to community assistance, four cattle, which had no brand marks, were impounded at Mokopane SPCA on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

A report indicated that police were alerted by the Waterberg Safety Forum about three motor vehicles suspected of stealing livestock in the Matlala area.

While on the lookout for the vehicles along Harry Oppenheimer Road and Millennium Road, two vehicles sped off at high speed towards Mokopane. One vehicle, a white Toyota Hilux with Limpopo registration number, loaded with four cattle, was cornered.

The occupants of the Toyota Hilux fled the scene on foot into the bushes, leaving the vehicle behind.

The police urge owners of the seized livestock to urgently come forward and identify their livestock at Mokopane SPCA, or contact Polokwane Stock Theft Unit Detective Sergeant Stanley Manaka on 082 319 9532.

Police investigations are ongoing.
