Two arrested after cellphone robbery in Joburg CBD

The arrested suspects are now in custody at Johannesburg Central SAPS following a robbery at Albert and Troye Streets.

Two men have been arrested following a robbery at the corner of Albert and Troye Streets in central Johannesburg. The incident unfolded on Monday morning when four men reported to Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) officers that they had been robbed of their cellphones and a router by three suspects.

Officers immediately responded and, upon arriving at the scene, identified two men who matched the victims’ descriptions. During a search, the stolen cellphones and router were recovered, and the suspects were unable to account for the items.

The suspects were detained and are now facing charges of robbery at Johannesburg Central SAPS. Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour.
