Teenager faces court for pouring hot water on rival over boyfriend's photos

A teenage girl allegedly turned a love triangle into a nightmare when she poured hot water over a 20-year-old woman and repeatedly struck her with a bottle over photographs reportedly found on her boyfriend’s cellphone.

The incident occurred on Friday, November 7, 2025, at about 9pm in Denstaat village, under the Alldays policing area in Capricorn District, Polokwane.

The 17-year-old suspect allegedly woke the sleeping victim to confront her about the photos. During the heated altercation, she poured hot water over the victim and struck her several times on the head and face with a bottle.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. Police were immediately called to the scene, and a case of attempted murder was opened. The suspect was arrested shortly thereafter.

The teen is set to appear in the Senwabarwana Magistrate’s Court on Monday, November 10, 2025, facing a charge of attempted murder.

Police investigations are continuing.
