In an uplifting turn of events, award-winning singer Makhadzi has officially been cleared by her doctors to return to work following her recovery from a serious car accident, last year. The announcement from Makhadzi Entertainment came after a follow-up check-up in Polokwane on Friday, February 13.

After the accident on New Year’s Eve while travelling from Limpopo to Johannesburg, Makhadzi had been under close medical observation, with hospitalisation required immediately after the incident. In an emotional message shared with fans after her discharge, she acknowledged the overwhelming support she received from across Africa, thanking followers for their prayers and encouragement during her healing journey. “I feel a need to update you about my health because of the love and support you have been showing me, not only in South Africa but across Africa globally,” she said at the time.

She has expressed her gratitude to the healthcare professionals at Netcare Pholosho, particularly the nurses and doctors who played a pivotal role in her care. “I am feeling good and would like to thank all the staff members for taking care of me from day one,” she said, exuding optimism as she prepares to re-enter the limelight.

Amid her recovery, Makhadzi kept her creative spirit alive, remaining active in the studio and working diligently on new music projects. Fans can look forward to fresh releases in the near future. Additionally, Makhadzi’s team has started gearing up for a comeback show, rescheduled for May 1, 2026, at the Fountains in Pretoria.
