Four suspects have been shot dead and one injured in a gunfight with police and private security in Yeoville, with the group allegedly linked to follow-home robberies targeting airport travellers.

Four suspects have been shot dead following a gunfight with police and private security in Yeoville, Johannesburg.
According to information shared by crime and security expert Yusuf Abramjee, the suspects were allegedly linked to a gang responsible for a string of follow-home robberies targeting travellers from airports.
“Four suspects have been shot dead after a gunfight with police and private security in Yeoville, Johannesburg,” Abramjee said on social media.
He added that the group is believed to be behind numerous incidents in which victims are followed from airports and robbed shortly after leaving the premises.
Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko confirmed the shooting as reported by IOL.
“Active crime scene at Yeoville. Four suspects (were) fatally wounded and one injured. Three firearms (were ) recovered,” she said.
Firearms have been recovered at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released further details, and the scene remains active as investigations continue.
