Fresh off the news over the weekend that Hacjivah Dayimani will be rejoining the Stormers, it could not have come at a better time for the Cape outfit according to coach John Dobson.
The Stormers began the United Rugby Championship (URC) like a house on fire with eight wins on the trot.
However, they were knocked off their pedestal by the lesser-fancied Sharks as the Durban side beat the Stormers twice in a row.
As a result, the Stormers have fallen from the top of the table down to third as the URC takes a break for the Six Nations.
Dayimani comes back to the Stormers on a short-term deal until the end of the season as he has spent the last two seasons playing in the French top 14.
“Yes, Hacjivah is coming back! You won’t get a player of his quality out of his contract. We got really, really lucky that he was available to leave Paris. You can never get those players out of contract, it’s impossible,” Dobson told SportsBoom.co.za.
With the talented Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu taking over the captaincy reins for the Stormers, it’s exciting times indeed for the Stormers.
“He [Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu] is going to be a brilliant captain. The idea was for him to drive the game more, but he is also the captain now as well.”
“Whether it is a good idea to have your game driver, magic maker, and leader at the same time at that age is probably worth a debate. He is going to be a great Stormers captain, I have got no doubt. If it is too early, probably.”
