Scoop Makhathini scoops the top honour at the 2024 GQ Best Dressed Awards
A man who truly deserves recognition in this industry Scoop Makhathini. His parents gave him the birth name Siyabonga, meaning gratitude in isiXhosa, Siyabonga showed gratitude as he scooped the Best Fashion Icon award presented by Crocs at the GQ Best Dressed 2024. Under 14 award categories, the Fashion Icon Award was the biggest award of the night, and Scoop's win was the highlight of the evening.
As someone who grew up watching Scoop on Television from shows like Slam Dunk, Street Journal, V Entertainment on Vuzu, Forever Young, presenting on Channell O & MTV Base to Catching Waves with him on YouTube under Sliqour On Life, Scoop has undoubtedly cemented himself as one of best Television presenters in Africa.
Not only has he been visible on our Television screens but also on the airwaves where he had a show with Sizwe Dlomo on YFM called "Sizz N Scoop". Scoop didn't stop there, he partnered with the late DJ Dimplez to create a podcast that fuses radio and television which was named "Pop Cast", this goes to show his multi-talented personality and his versatility in the media space.
