South Africa’s Amapiano prince, Aymos, is back with some summer fire for his fans. The singer-songwriter, full name Amos Babili Shili, recently dropped a new single called “10K Yey’nkomo”, featuring Samthing Soweto and Sha Sha.

The track hits home with a story about lobola, a heartfelt cultural tradition where a man shows appreciation to his partner’s family.

Sharing his inspiration with “Music Africa”, Aymos said: “I’m grateful to work with incredible talents like Samthing Soweto, Sha Sha, and Mas Musiq.

“The inspiration behind ‘10K Yey’nkomo’ comes from witnessing the joy and excitement in my family during lobola negotiations leading to a cultural wedding.”

And just in time for summer, Aymos has more in store for his fans.

Fresh off winning at the Briefly Entertainment Awards and scooping up the Best Music Video and Best Male Artist titles at the 2024 Metro FM Awards, he’s about to release his new album, Impilo.

The hitmaker recently teased his fans with a preview of the album on Instagram, showing off the cover art and giving us a taste of what’s to come.

“Impilo” drops on Friday, August 30, and promises to be another banger from the star, who brought us hits like “Sghubhu,” “Fatela,” and “Izenzo.”
