Marriott International announces The Cape Town EDITION hotel opening in 2026

In a significant step forward for luxury hospitality in Africa, Marriott International, Inc. has partnered with V&A Waterfront Holdings to announce the opening of The Cape Town EDITION, scheduled to launch in 2026. This landmark agreement heralds the debut of EDITION Hotels on the African continent, bringing a new wave of innovative and exquisite design, along with Marriott's esteemed service to the bustling city of Cape Town.

Karim Cheltout, Senior Vice President of Development for the Middle East & Africa at Marriott International, expressed enthusiasm about the project. The Cape Town EDITION is expected to include 142 elegantly designed guest rooms and suites, providing a luxurious retreat complemented by exceptional dining experiences. A standout feature will be a signature rooftop bar, along with premium amenities such as a spa, pool, and extensive meeting and event facilities. The hotel’s design will also embrace Cape Town’s vibrant culture through thoughtfully curated social spaces that celebrate the city's rich heritage and cosmopolitan energy.

In addition to its hotel offerings, The Cape Town EDITION will host The Residences at The Cape Town EDITION, featuring six private residences that embody the essence of contemporary luxury and refined simplicity. This addition promises to establish a new benchmark for luxury living in the city.

Leading the architectural design of this prestigious project is the renowned Shanghai-based firm Neri & Hu, in collaboration with local design studio StudioMAS. Their vision is to create a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere that seamlessly merges modern luxury with authentic local character, true to the EDITION brand.
