Coachella 2026 delivered a massive dose of nostalgia and star power during Justin Bieber's weekend two headlining set.

But out of all the glittering guest appearances and throwback hits, one incredibly sweet, unscripted moment completely stole the show.

If you've followed Justin's career, you know his classic concert routine for his 2009 hit, "One Less Lonely Girl," where he brings a lucky fan onto the stage for a special serenade.

When the familiar chords started playing, everyone in the crowd naturally assumed his wife, Hailey Bieber, would be the one stepping into the spotlight.

But in a twist that has since gone viral, Hailey played the ultimate wingwoman.

Videos filmed by fans in the crowd showed the Rhode Beauty founder enthusiastically pushing her friend, and longtime Bieber superfan, Billie Eilish, past the barricade to get her up on stage.

It was the epitome of a "girl's girl" moment, with fans on TikTok praising Hailey for letting Billie live out her absolute teenage dream.

Eilish, who has never hidden her massive love for Justin's music, was completely overcome with emotion, dropping to her knees in pure excitement before getting a huge hug from the singer as he told her, "Only you, shawty".

The emotional aftermath of the surprise was just as touching as the performance itself.

The “Birds of the Feather” singer, still pinching herself after the festival, took to her Instagram Stories to share a picture of her bloodshot eyes, revealing to fans that she simply "can't stop crying".

Even Billie's mom, actress Maggie Baird, was deeply moved. She called the surprise "one of the most touching moments ever" on Instagram, explaining how incredible it is to watch her daughter's unimaginable childhood dream come true over the years.

Baird also expressed her deep gratitude, thanking Justin for his kindness and praising Hailey, noting that she "makes so many things wonderful and possible".

The serenade fit perfectly into a set that was heavily steeped in nostalgia.

Earning a reported record-breaking $10 million for his headline slot, Bieber took fans "on a journey".

He started his performance sitting in front of a laptop on a stripped-back stage, charming the crowd by singing along to YouTube videos of his earliest hits and 12-year-old home videos, repeatedly asking the audience, "How far back do you go?"

He seamlessly shifted the festival vibe to a smooth, intimate R&B space when SZA came out to duet a stripped-back version of "Snooze".

Bringing the energy right back up, Sexyy Red jumped in for their track "Sweet Spot," while Big Sean served up pure throwback energy with fan-favourites "As Long As You Love Me" and "No Pressure".

Bieber wasn’t the only one pulling out all the stops for the festival.

Sabrina Carpenter gave fans an unforgettable treat during her headlining set on Friday night.

Right in the middle of performing "Juno", the part of her “Short 'n Sweet” tour where she usually playfully "arrests" a celebrity, pop icon Madonna unexpectedly rose from the centre of the stage.

The two teamed up to perform "Vogue" and "Like a Prayer" and unveil a rumoured new duet for Madonna's upcoming “Confessions II” album, proving that Coachella 2026 is truly the year of legendary pop crossovers.
