Is Qhawekazi Mazaleni participating in the Miss World 2026 competition?

Speculations that Miss SA 2025, Qhawekazi Mazaleni, is going to participate in the Miss World 2026 beauty pageant are swirling around because she is currently listed as the representative of SA on Wikipedia.

Furthermore, a beauty pageant fan account shared a post on Instagram questioned if the news that Mazaleni is our representative at Miss World 2026 is true.

This sparked a lot of excitement as well as intrigue among fans who were convinced that the crowned Miss SA is not going to be at any international pageants.

While the news might sound exciting, it is also important to note that currently, the Miss SA organisation does not hold the Miss World license.

Carol Bouwer is the owner of licensing rights for the Miss World competition, as she acquired the license in 2023.

In addition, it was revealed in 2025, after the Miss SA competition started to get things on track and preparations for the finale were underway, the organisers shared that the incoming queen would not participate in the international pageants during her reign.

Instead, she will focus and dedicate her reign to “building meaningful impact at home and across the continent, with a strong focus on youth and women empowerment advocacy,” according to a press release shared in October 2025.

However, the organisation also shared the same statement that if it happens that Miss SA 2025 does participate in an international pageant, she will be prepared and ready to chase an international crown.

“When Miss South Africa does step onto the international stage, she will do so with full preparation, deep purpose and a voice that stands for both her country and her continent,” the organisation said.

Even though the news has not been confirmed by the Miss SA organisation, fans expressed their excitement over the news.

“Ohh I hope this is true,” @ntsiki_zulu commented.

“She should, she’d be great,” @karennyasha_phiri wrote.

“I think she may stand a chance to be in the Top 20,” @phelopeloz added.
