I am sure many of you wonder how some people just shine with domestic bliss. They can whip up a meal in no time. To add to that, the meal is delicious. This is the “secret recipe”, easy in the cupboard ingredients, that the whole family can enjoy.

The chakalaka South African taste, a little spicy and full of flavour.

Chakalaka Chicken

Easy Meals for busy people

1.5kg chicken pieces (thighs and drumsticks)

Salt and pepper

1 can chakalaka

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1 tsp brown sugar

1/2 cup yoghurt

4 tbsp flour

1/2 cup chicken stock

Method

Heat oven to 180°C

Sprinkle salt and pepper on to chicken pieces. Place the chicken in an ovenproof dish.

Mix the remaining ingredients together, pour over the chicken and place in the oven for 40 minutes.

Cooking time may vary according to the size of the chicken pieces.

Serve with rice or salad. Easy!
